A Hero bite

I got a bite from a literary agent!!!!!!!!

(Yes I'm this excited and any of those who don't like punctuation marks- should not continue to read.)

So it has been a week since I've sent off my first manuscript and query letter to a lit agent and I've haven't stopped bitting my nails. Okay, I don't bite my nails, but I seriously check my e-mail account all the time to see if I've got a reply.

Tonight I went to my class and my professor (literary agent) handed back the first chapter and she LOVED IT! Which of course makes me happy. But the best part is, she told me that I have an excellent hook (what captures the reader's interest from the beginning) and that I'm an advanced writer (sweet!) AND requested the rest of my manuscript!

Naturally, I'm thrilled and she said that she's going to keep her eye on me. There were limited edits on the copy of my book she gave back to me so that's a good sign. I stayed after to class to ask her what the * on top of my paper was and she said I was the only one that received one that night. Meaning- she thinks that my book is a winner" and I told her that I agreed. :D And that with a little bit of editing, this book will be ready for PUBLICATION!!!!!!!!!!!

So I know, this is a little early to rant and rave about my success but I just thought I'd let the blogging world know- Morgan Dewey's book- Hero- will be coming to a bookstore near you very soon!
