Chicken with no head

A bit gruesome I know, but i've been all over the place this week and I'm exhausted.

Things I've learned this week:
1.) I HATE carpool!!! Driving and picking up kids at 9, 12:20 and 3:20 is not my idea of a day well spent.
2.) Most asked question: "Anyone seen Lexie?"
4.)Baby temper tantrum= "pay attention to me and hold me."
5.) Lexie weighs a million pounds.
6.) I never want to live anywhere but Saint George.
7.) Early to bed and early to rise does not suit me.
8.) Writing music intimidates me. I feel like since I graduated in Music and I feel people expect music writing to be a piece of cake for me. In theory writing is easy, but actually recording music and feeling good about the outcome? Totally different story.
9.) My love language: (Besides saying "I love you") Outward expressions of love. Ie: note/card writing, and texting and talking (most preferred) on the phone, surprises and service.
10.) Apparently when I'm stressed I write in lists?
11.) I'm ready to go home and so is Lexie. I miss Shane. And I miss being held and kissed. Although when home I see Shane an hour here and an hour there on the weekdays, I at least knew he was there. Could feel his warmth in the bed and could snuggle up to him in the middle of the night if I wasn't too tired to move. Sigh!
12.) I never EVER EVER want to be a single parent. I have no idea how I'll handle having another kid, but they won't come in a litter, (Heavenly Father knows what he's doing) so again- one child at a time is a good thing.

Bright notes:

1.) A friend I haven't seen in 10 years (gosh I sound old!) came over this week and we chatted and laughed like old pals. Emily hasn't changed a bit from how I remember her bubbly personality in junior high and she was truly a breath of fresh air, a ray of sunshine on my hard week. THANK YOU! for dropping by Em. I can't wait to see you again this week. :D

2.) Mom and I are still going extremely strong in the song writing department- we've nearly finished a 7 page, 4 part harmony, crazy accompaniment, choir piece. The writing is all recorded on Finale, and the plan is to get all of these songs professionally recorded (mom knows people) and I can't WAIT to share these amazing pieces with everyone. We've been truly inspired with these songs.

3.) Shane is coming up this coming friday! I can't wait to see him, not on skype but in person. Just a couple more days- I can do it!

6 opinions:

  1. Hey luv, you can do it!!!! If anyone can, it's you. I can't wait to hear this song that you and your wonderful mother have been working on. And I hope you know I'm serious about coming over to help at nights!! (It'll help me get my mind off my issues)

    Hugs!

  3. What are you writing the music for?? It is hard. It can be a chore. It is easy to write music, but it is hard to actually write something that sounds good! (as in pleasant to the ear and not boring)

  4. I totally know how you feel about the single Parent thing.. It is no fun :( you get attached to that husband even if it is just for an hour or so a day it feels different just knowing they are there..
