New Goals for the New Year

Let's be serious about New Years resolutions....

Most of the time we forget the goals we made by February for the convenient purpose of our sanity. I however, have decided to make a few easy, obtainable goals.

1. Scrapbook SOMETHING every week and print it off then bind into a book at the end of the year. I am terribly behind from this last year and that needs to change today!

My darling and ever so talented friend Kim is doing the 365 picture project and that is just too intimidating to take a stunning picture and post it everyday SO my contribution shall be one, maybe two "stunning" (at least by my standard) pictures of our lives for the rest of this year.

There I said it! Now I suppose I'll have to follow through? :D I can do this!
All the Widmer family minus the Dewey's of course. :(

Not so hard right? ha ha, we shall see.
1.5 Another thought is a baby eating book. Lexie has this book that she absolutely loves of babies eating food. It is a revolting book of gnarly looking babies with food plastered all over their face with horrible jargon... but Lexie loves it. So I am going to replace that book of random babies eating gross food, of Lexie eating her own food. I'm sure she doesn't care, but at least I will enjoy looking at this new book more since it's of my little girl.

A goal for me:
2. Get my book published this year!
Currently my book is in the editing process by my agent- pretty cool to say out loud- or rather write out... Anyway, the editing process will go by quickly, but it's the turn over done on my part that we'll be waiting on. Hopefully, my agent won't suggest a total makeover on Hero, but I'm willing to put forth the time to make a splash into the literary world when the time is right!

A goal for the family:
3. Play more!
Shane works graves and goes to school during the day which leaves little time for family time. Therefore, the goal is when we're together to take advantage of where we live and be active as a family going on hikes, bike rides, going to the park (can't believe Lexie will actually be playing on playground by spring) swimming, the likes. It's going to be a fun year!

Goals for the couple:
4. Go to bed!
We're night owls. Now that we have a pumpkin head, (who thankfully sleeps in till 10-10:30 in the morning- yes I have an AMAZING baby!) we need to go to bed earlier.
5. Scripture study, family history and temple attendance.
There is no excuse- except life gets busy and when you break a habit, it's hard to get back into. This year will be different.

That's all the goals I can think of for right now. But I honestly believe these goals are easy enough that I won't "forget" about them by February. he he. Wish us luck!

1 opinions:

  1. Those are some good goals! I need to write down all my goals I have too. That post below of Lexie is cute! I can't believe how big she is getting!
