For those wondering...
Beginning of February I finally met with my agent in person. She read through the entire book (419 pages) a month ago and came back with edits, and ideas for me. Long story short- I got some amazing feedback and walked away feeling a little overwhelmed, but real excited.
This is almost the entire hard copy of my novel, all 63 chapters of it. :D
Dr. Western spent two hours with me reading over 60 pages of my novel and her notes. After we discussed how I could improve the book (ie: adding more drama in the characters lives, making the climactic moments in each chapter larger, and fiddling with dropping more mystery/hints- which I can't write about here without ruining the book for you. :D) Anyway, we called it good for the day.
And then I had a question, which then led into another question and suddenly I divulged the entire grand scheme for the next two- maybe three books. My agent's mouth drop in amazement (yippee!) she said she was impressed with my imagination, that if that was the chosen route for my book, we would need to do a bit more changes with the first novel to set it up better for the rest of the books... anyway we talked for another 30 minutes about rewriting the first (not too much, but a little) or instead of a paranormal romance, turning the novel into a fantasy adventure? and then I started to feel overwhelmed. There was so much that needed, and what I wanted to be done and yet, was it all going to be worth it? So I asked her to be honest with me.
And my agent (you know, the one who's buddy-buddy with Speilburg, written several screenplays, she knows her way around the industry) said "If I didn't think you were good enough, that this [story] wasn't good enough, I wouldn't have spent all this time with you." Then proceeded to tell me that she could see this project easily turn into a movie, or even a TV series! How cool is that? I mean seriously?!
So to all those nay-sayers, reality-checkers out there- don't bother with me- just be happy for me! I'm not crossing my fingers that I'll be the next Stephanie Meyers (however you spell her name) and if I don't- die. (Though I wouldn't be telling the truth if I didn't think it'd be cool.) All I'm saying is: I got AWESOME feedback on my novel from a professional, it felt wonderful and I'm working hard on the rewrite that will hopefully be done at the end of the month! Promise to keep you posted.

That's great Morgan! So exciting! My only advice now is to grow some tough skin for what is to come in the next year or two. But it will all be so worth it!
