Ketchup-Oct/Nov

I can't believe it's been a month- phew that happened quick! Lots has happened around our house, so let's get started!

Shane turned 31! Happy birthday babe.

Dixie’s Homecoming weekend- my family came to visit and we had lots of fun. Went to my ward Halloween party, rode the carousel, went to the homecoming parade- Lexie was hilarious when they threw free candy at her! Awesome weekend! :D

Bragging author moment:

New York's best time seller- Ally Condie came to St. George for a signing and conference and signed my books!! Her presentation about getting published was awesome, it was fun to learn from her perspective what helped her get an edge above other authors. Neat to learn some tricks and learn about her new book that wouldn't be released for three days- but they were selling it and I got that signed too!

So funny story- I wasn't finished with the first book when I came to the conference so my nose was burried in the book while I waited in line to enter the conference room. This older lady behind me said, "I could save you the trouble and tell you how it ends" ( I was 40 pages from finishing the first book) and I said, "No thanks, I'm got it last night and I'm so close." This younger lady beside me said, "That's impressive." And I said, "Well it's a great book, and I know it's going to end well, that's why I already bought the next book ." The younger lady smiled and said, "Glad you like it." I smiled back and before I knew it the line was moving and I was sitting on the front row, my nose still burried in the book. Couple minutes later, the conference is starting, I look up and.... the younger lady I spoke to eariler- was the author!!!! ha ha ha I had no idea! So yeah, I complimented the author and chatted with her for five minutes without knowing it. ha ha. Awesome nerdy-author day. :D
